Being in community with women who lead with kindness, respect, authenticity, and mutual support has shown me a version of womanhood I never knew I needed.

As I enter my 30s, I'm discovering growth, whimsy, softness, joy, and genuine sisterhood, things I had little desire or capacity for in my 20s. Back then, I let my inner turmoil dictate how I moved through the world, keeping me inside an almost impenetrable shell.

Now, through self-awareness, honest reflection, and being resilient as hell, I'm learning that softness isn't weakness, joy isn't something to earn, and allowing yourself to be loved and supported is one of the greatest forms of growth.

I enjoyed reading this piece, us girls have to stick together 🤎🤎

I think I have friendship PTSD. I try to make connections but I also have the flashbacks, the aftermath of the unraveling, the aching in my heart still. I want community, so much, but I’m genuinely afraid to experience such things again. 🤎

I’ve been on that underside, I grew up with a hardened mother. Luckily I was able to find my way out of it through distance, building relationships with authentic women who led with love, and also lots of therapy.

This piece should be included in the necessities kit for when ladies are finally able to step into this side of womanhood. 🤎💐

This is beautiful and intentional. A reminder to be the safe space we want to experience.

I’m so glad God, therapy, and the love from other Women released me from that underside!

I’ve been on the underside of womanhood but it has not hardened me, it’s made me cautious of course, but I always go into female led spaces with openness because I’ve never held anyone else’s transgressions against others…also this was so beautifully written ♥️

I really love this piece. I’ve been blessed with a circle of women who continually show me the wonder, whimsy, and beauty of sisterhood and womanhood overall.

However, I definitely have encountered women on the underside like the young lady described here. I truly pray that she and all other women enduring that unfortunate side of womanhood get to enjoy the softer side sooner rather than later.
