yearning for a place of my own right now ;,) i can’t wait to finish university and live somewhere where i can host a group of friends! i truly hope my future looks like this
I’ll be hosting for my birthday and all the things you mentioned being on the list of anxieties was me until I came back to this post. I’m still going to go for it!!
Absolutely loved this perspective on hosting. The way youdescribe it as tangible gratitude instead of just another social obligation really reframes the whole thing. I've been overthinking the "perfect setup" for months and this gave me that nudge to just do it, imperfect and all. Super practical reminder that the gathering itself mattrers way more than the details.
I think the woman who wore a huge smile on her face and contentment in her heart seeing the gathering she thought of, planned for and executed being enjoyed by the people she reached out to hold near, would like to do this again, but the woman in nursing a broken heart needs time. Either way, I’m enjoying filling up on the details for the future when both of them are ready. Thank you Grey 🥰

I love to host but talk myself out of it due to a number of reasons but you’ve inspired me to try!
I absolutely love this! I find it so hard to get together "outside" with friends.
