Having someone in your life that reminds you to celebrate yourself in ways such as this is extremely important. I don’t think I’ve lost my spark. I don’t think I’ve become thoughtless, I can’t. My heart won’t let me be. But I do feel as though I’ve become more guarded, protecting my soft underbelly that has been gutted way too many times. No matter how many times it’s proven otherwise to me, I still think that others think like me. I guess I just wanted to be considered too.
Thank you for this. I started a new job in 2025 and the first person I met has been one of the most thoughtful people I've encountered. They really took me under their wing and honestly without them I would be a little lost. It's the little things they do and I made an effort to show my appreciation for them this Christmas.
